Newton "Newt" Artemis Fido Scamander

Author of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them (PS5) and a number of other books.

Wife: Porpentina Scamander.
Son: Rolf Scamander, husband of Luna Lovegood (BLC).
Home: Currently retired, living in Dorset with his wife and three pet Kneazles; according to his Famous Wizard card, he also currently studies Fire Slugs in the Brazilian rain forest (CF, fw73).
Career: joined Ministry of Magic, Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures:

• Office of House Elf Relocation (1916-1918)
• Beast Division (1918-retirement)
  • Commissioned by Augustus Worme of Obscurus Books to write a guide to magical creatures (1918).
  • First edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is published (1927), currently in its 52nd edition.
  • Created the Werewolf Register (1947).
  • Wrote the Ban on Experimental Breeding (1965).
  • Worked with the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau (years unknown).

Awards
Order of Merlin, 2nd Class (1979).
